ABOUT US

We are simply a group of folks, much like you, who have an interest in not only the American Civil War in general, but specifically the Civil War story of Augusta, Kentucky. Situated on the Ohio River about 45 miles UPRIVER from Cincinnati. Augusta was the scene of fighting on the afternoon of September 27, 1862, when some of Morgan’s raiders paid a visit. The result was twenty buildings Were burned down and wounded and killed on both sides, and the prevention of the Confederates from crossing the Ohio River, potentially threatening the Queen City.

Our group participates in the American Battlefield Trust Park Day, and is working to create more interpretation for the battle. We are also working on making the Coburn-Baker Cemetery a place worthy of visiting.
