Adopt-A-Soldier Program

At this time we are modifying our adopt-a-soldier program to accept donations for cleaning solution and flags. With so many soldiers adopted we are encountering some difficulty in placing a new flag each year (we need your help!), so we wan to go back to our original focus: Payne and Augusta Hillside Cemeteries. However, we want to keep cleaning stones, including those soldiers listed to the right who have not been adopted. Please consider a donation as we work to honor these civil war veterans. Thank you!

The Civil War Augusta mission is to promote, preserve, and interpret the Civil War story of Augusta. Our Adopt-A-Soldier program preserves the memory of Civil War soldiers in Bracken County by dignifying their final resting place with cleaning their stone with an approved VA product and an appropriate flag.

Click the button above to donate. $10.00 will help buy cleaning solution while $20.00 also provides a flag and flag holder. Any amount, large or small, helps!
