Join us once again for the American Battlefield Trust Park Day!
We will be gathering at the Coburn-Baker Cemetery, site of our last Park Day event. This cemetery has been overgrown for some years, and last year we made great strides to reclaim the cemetery for public visitation. It is the resting place of two Civil War and two Revolutionary War veterans.
We will need help with picking up limbs and brush. We will also cut honeysuckle along the property lines. We recommend wearing work clothes and gloves. Please bring power tools if you have them. Chainsaws, brush cutters, and a couple of wheelbarrows would be of great help. We will have a wood chipper onsite this year to reduce the cuttings.
We will meet in front of the cemetery by 10:00 a.m. and knock off hours later. Can’t make it at ten? Stop by later and help as you can. This is a volunteer effort, so work at your own pace and enjoy taking care of this cemetery.
Make it a day…have lunch at one of the great restaurants in the heart of Augusta. Stop for a glass of wine at the Baker-Bird Winery. Enjoy the view of the Ohio River from along the shore. Enjoy the shops along Main Street.
